Mardi Gras in Sydney last weekend - Me with purple hair

The second day in Sydney we went to see the Three Sisters and the rest of the Blue Mountains which was beautiful. In the evening we dressed up and went out to celebrate Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras has different origin in different countries.

In Sydney, a parade is held, known as the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, or simply "Mardi Gras". The event started as an attempt to bring about public acceptance of homosexuality and as a retaliation to police brutality in the 1970s.

This is how we experienced it as well. There was a great parade, a lot of fabulous costumes, and quite a lot of nudity. It was a crazy night with a lot of confidence, where it seemed like everyone was very proud of themselves their bodies and their sexuality. Go "Acceptance of homosexuality".
